Pressure washing for driveways, patios and paths

We are roof cleaning specialists, but we are also happy to say plainly that we pressure wash where and when it is needed. For hard ground surfaces such as driveways, patios and paths, a properly controlled pressure wash is often the most effective way to remove ground-in dirt, moss and weeds.

This page covers what we clean, how we approach it and what to expect.

Surfaces we pressure wash

Driveways and patios around homes in Tyrone and Fermanagh take a lot of punishment: wet weather, leaves from nearby trees, tyre marks and mud from country roads. Over time moss and algae make them dark and slippery, especially in shaded corners and along walls.

Using the right pressure for the surface

Not every surface should be hit with full pressure. Softer natural stone, older slabs and pointing between paving can be damaged by an aggressive wash. We adjust our approach to the surface, and where a gentler softwash treatment would do a better job we will recommend that instead. The aim is a clean surface that is still in good condition afterwards.

Block paving and re-sanding

Cleaning block paving washes out some of the jointing sand between the blocks along with the weeds and moss growing in it. Where it is part of your quote, we re-sand the joints after cleaning, which helps lock the blocks in place and makes it harder for weeds to return. We will explain whether re-sanding is included before we start.

Safety as well as appearance

Steps and paths leading to the front door are often the first places customers ask us to clean, because they get the most foot traffic and are usually the most slippery after a wet spell. Shaded patios at the back of a house, under trees or beside high walls, tend to go green fastest. Cleaning these areas regularly makes the outside of the home safer for older family members and visitors.

Algae and moss on paths and patios become very slippery in wet weather, which is a real concern for homeowners and their visitors. A clean surface is safer to walk on as well as better looking. Regular sweeping, clearing leaves and keeping drainage channels clear will all help keep the surface in good condition between cleans.

Pairing it with roof cleaning

If we are already cleaning your roof, doing the driveway and paths afterwards makes sense, because any debris from the roof is removed at the same time and the whole property looks finished. Ask for both on your quote and we will set them out separately. Pressure washing is booked Monday to Saturday between 9am and 6pm.

Frequently asked questions

Do you use pressure washing on roofs?

Air is our main roof method. We use pressure washing mainly on ground surfaces, and only on a roof area where it is genuinely needed, which we would explain on your quote.

Will pressure washing damage my patio?

We adjust the pressure to suit the surface, and recommend softwashing instead where a surface is too delicate.

Do you re-sand block paving?

Re-sanding can be included after cleaning block paving. Your written quote will say whether it is.

Do I need to provide water?

We will confirm what we need, such as access to an outside tap, when we quote.
